Jenny Balston Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is accepted for admission in 2022-2023 on a full-time basis for a PhD in History (i.e. History, Scottish History, Economic and Social History).

This award is funded through a bequest from the estate of Miss Janet Mary Balston, MA (1971), to the University of Edinburgh Development Trust.

This award covers an annual stipend, and tuition fees at the Home rate will also be paid.  Successful overseas applicants remain liable for the difference between the Home and overseas fee rate of tuition fee.  Awards will normally be tenable for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress.
