The Lt.Col Jack Wishart Scholarship

One scholarship is available to applicants enrolled on the ChM Trauma and Orthopaedics (Online Distance Learning) programme in the 2018-2019 academic session.

Award

The award will contribute £500 per year toward tuition fees and is tenable for two academic years.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants must been accepted to study the ChM Trauma and Orthopaedics (Online Distance Learning) commencing in 2018-2019 and be a national and resident of the following countries:

  • Belarus
  • Bulgaria
  • Czech Republic
  • Hungary
  • Moldova
  • Poland
  • Romania
  • Russia
  • Slovakia
  • Ukraine

Prospective entrants would normally have acquired their MRCS (or equivalent assessment milestone) and be an Advanced Trainee in Orthopaedics (ST [specialist training years] 5-6 in UK or equivalent outside UK) and will have completed a minimum of 4 years' specialty training in Trauma & Orthopaedics before the proposed date of admission to the programme and will be pre-FRCS status and will have completed a minimum of 4 years' specialty training in Trauma & Orthopaedics before the proposed date of admission to the programme and will be pre-FRCS status.

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.  Applicants who have already commenced their programme of study on the closing date are not eligible for this scholarship.

Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence.
