The Garden Scholarship in Surgical Sciences

The University of Edinburgh will offer one Masters scholarship for eligible students studying the MSc in Surgical Sciences or ChM in General Surgery programmes commencing in the 2019-2020 academic year.

The scholarship will have a total value of £1,500, which will be deducted from the annual tuition fee for the part-time programme of study. 


The scholarship will be available to first or second year students enrolled on either the MSc in Surgical Sciences or the ChM in General Surgery online learning programmes at the University of Edinburgh. Applicants must be both nationals of and resident in the following countries:

The countries listed above are defined as least developed nations by the United Nations Committee for Development Policy. 


The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit and evidence of a commitment to a career in surgery. 


Applications for this scholarship are no longer being accepted for 2019-2020 as the 2nd Septermber 2019 deadline has now passed.


A Selection Committee (comprising the Programme Director and Year Directors for the MSc in Surgical Sciences) will meet in September 2019 to select the scholarship holder.
