Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships 2021

A total of 40 scholarships are offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC).

Scholarships are being offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) to citizens of certain developing Commonwealth countries wanting to study one the Online masters programmes.

These scholarships are funded by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth..

Award

Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees and will be tenable for up to five years of part-time study for one of the masters listed below.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship, candidates should:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Have an offer to study on one of the eligible programmes (see below)

Applying and Deadlines

This is a TWO PART process

PART ONE:   Apply to the programme at the university, search for your eligible On-line Masters of choice on our Degree Finder.

To secure an offer you must meet the University of Edinburgh entry requirements, including demonstrating English language competency.

Deadline 1: 16:00 BST on Monday 12th April 2021

PART TWO:  Once you have received an offer from the University of Edinburgh, apply to the Commonwealth Scholarships through their online application system.

Before applying, please be sure to read the Eligibility Information on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission website.

Remember you must include all supporting documentation.

Deadline 2: 17:00 BST on Monday 26th April 2021.

Applications for the 2021-2022 academic session are no longer being accepted for this scholarship as the 26th of April deadline has now passed.
