We offer self-help and online resources, one-to-one therapy, plus as a series of workshops. We can also refer you on to mentoring and physical health support within the University.
One-to-one therapy (Counselling)
The Student Counselling Service is working remotely and at present we are offering services by video (via Microsoft Teams) and telephone. If you would like to speak to a counsellor please make sure you have noted your contact number before submitting the form.
Video appointments on Microsoft Teams
We now offer video appointments via Microsoft Teams. This is the option we will offer when we contact you with an appointment time. We have set out a list of FAQs below to help with any queries you may have.
If you are interested in email counselling you should submit an application in the same way as for face to face counselling but indicate on the form that the request is for email counselling.
Skills for Life and Learning
We run presentation workshops on a variety of topics. These are being held online for 2020-21 and are open to all students. They will commence in the second half of semester one.
Health and exercise
Our Support for Physical Activity programme can help support mental and emotional health and wellbeing through physical exercise.
NHS Lothian staff will deliver a series of six free classes, delivered in a lecture format so you will not be asked to speak in front of a group. You will learn proven techniques to manage stress and improve sleep.
