The Student route application process (new students)
Before a student can be sponsored, there are a number of things that must be assessed:
Once these matters have been assessed, and the student has accepted an unconditional offer, they will be prompted to request a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) through their EUCLID application screens.
We do not issue CAS more than 6 months before the start of the programme (or 3 months for those applying from inside the UK), as this is the soonest the student can apply for their visa.
There are three main stages of making a visa application:

The process normally takes around 3 weeks from outside the UK, and the student's passport is returned to them by post.
The passport will contain a vignette, which is normally valid for 30 days prior to the start of the programme to allow the student to enter the UK.
On arrival to the UK, the student will collect their Biometric Residence Permit.
