Types of funds you can use
Find out what types of funds you can use to pay for your tuition fees and living costs. Types include: self-funding, educational loans and scholarships.
Self-funding
If you are a self-funded student, you can use your own money, or money from a parent, legal guardian or (in some cases) partner. If you use someone else's money, you'll need to show that you have their permission to do so.
Educational loans
An educational loan means you are borrowing money to pay for your tuition fees. This may be provided by a government department or an educational loans scheme.
Scholarship
If you have a scholarship this means you are receiving money to study from a university, your home government, the British government or an international company or scholarship agency.
