Students can access pastoral support from a range of services across the University.
We introduced an online inventory so residents can check, amend and register their room or flat inventories online and review their record at any point during their tenancy. This saves on paperwork and makes the returning of this important information seamless for the students.
Action to retrofit common rooms in to our flatted estate continued; these spaces offer much needed opportunities to meet with others and form a focal point to build community. Common rooms developed in 2014 and 2015 included:
- Robertson’s Close
- Kincaid’s Court
- Warrender Park Crescent
We developed multi-faith volunteering opportunities in Edinburgh schools.
Student Disability Service
We produced a series of videos where our students speak out about their mental health and support from University services.
We also piloted a two-day residential event for students with Aspergers Syndrome, which introduced students to the campus, to the students’ association, EUSA, and to other University provision.
