Each year Edinburgh University Men's Hockey Club selects 18 players to be part of the Team Performance Programme.

Our 1XI play in Scottish Premiership, the highest league in Scotland and they compete with English Universities in the BUCS system playing in National Premier League.
The team are the first Scottish men's team to compete in the BUCS National Premier League since the formation of BUCS in 2008. They have won 2 BUCS Premier titles, the BUCs Vase and have consistently finished in the top half of the Scottish League for the last 10 consecutive seasons.
We have an exceptional record of developing International players and have had representation at the last 3 Commonwealth Games and over 26 current students/ alumni having played internationally, as well as our Head of Performance working with Scotland Senior Men.

Head of Performance Hockey (Men), Hamish Imrie
Hamish is a current Scotland international with over 35 caps and 20 goals. He joined EUMHC in 2021 from playing professional hockey in Belgium with Royal Antwerp, prior to that in Germany with Harvestuder, and also in England with Beeston.
He brings a wealth of both coaching and playing experience having held coaching roles in all the clubs he has worked and played for.
As a first team squad member you will receive expert coaching, access to our world class facilities, strength and conditioning training, sports science and sports medicine support.
We have access to an Olympic Grade, water based pitch, where our sessions take place, located at Peffermill Playing Fields.
Each week there are two team training sessions and two strength and conditioning sessions, led by trained S&C coaches. Additionally, there are opportunities for 1-1 sessions as requested by the players as well as a team video analysis sessions.
There is also access to the University's world-leading sports medicine clinic for selected Performance Players within the Men's Hockey Programme.
We offer a number of named scholarships available through the application process.
Eric Liddell High Performance Scholarships: Created in memory of one of the University’s sporting greats to help our most talented student athletes attain their sporting ambitions.
The University of Edinburgh Elite Athlete Scholarship Fund: Awarded to support talented student athletes with the purpose of enhancing their dual career (academic and sporting) ambitions and positioning the University as the UK’s foremost Higher Education Institution for performance sport.
The University of Edinburgh is also part of the Winning Students Network, which provides financial scholarships from the Scottish Funding Council to support student athletes.
