Pleasance Sport Complex & Gym

The University of Edinburgh's Pleasance sports complex and gym boasts some of the finest sports and fitness facilities in the country.

Following the Scottish Government announcement regarding tighter Coronavirus restrictions coming into force from midnight 04 January 2021, member access to the Pleasance Sport Complex and Gym is currently suspended.

As well as one of the country’s leading gym facilities the Pleasance also houses two multi-purpose sports halls, catering for a diverse range of indoor sports - everything from badminton to ultimate frisbee. There are also a number of sports-specific areas including dance studios, squash courts, boxing and martial arts areas, archery and rifle ranges and climbing/bouldering walls. So, whether your interest is an occasional visit to the gym or competing at national level, we’re sure to have something to suit your needs.

Indoor climbing and bouldering

We have two climbing rooms at the Pleasance: a roped facility (the Tower) and a bouldering room (the Rock).

Indoor sports facilities

From basketball to badminton, we have activity areas for a variety of individual and team sports.
