Keri Holdsworth Scholarship

In memory of Keri Holdsworth, Scottish International Rugby player, this scholarship supports the development of an Edinburgh University Ladies Rugby Football Club member.

As a Scotland Women international player, Keri won 15 caps for her country and in her career as a physiotherapist with our FASIC Sport & Exercise Medicine Clinic, her ongoing work with a number of Scotland age grade squads was highly valued. Keri tragically died in a car crash in 2014 and this scholarship is one of the ways in which her memory is honoured at the University.

The scholarship is open to members of the University’s Ladies’ Rugby Club. Candidates will be selected and considered at the department’s discretion and notified if they are successful.

This year's recipients are Sarah Denholm and Meryl Smith.

This scholarship does and will continue to allow me to focus my time and energy on training, recovery and studying as part of my degree. It also gives me the opportunity to obtain high quality nutrition so I can keep sustaining my performance in an elite sporting environment. These things are crucial to my development as an athlete and I couldn't be more honoured to receive the University's support.
