Scholarships

The University of Edinburgh offers various elite sporting scholarships for student athletes.

The University of Edinburgh’s Sporting Scholarships are some of the most respected in the UK, helping the best student athletes reach their full potential. Our scholarships are open to students in any year of study at the University.

 

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must fulfil the following:

  • Hold, or be in the process of applying for , a place on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme at the University
  • Currently competing at junior international standard or better in their chosen sport
  • Ready to be fully involved in university sport, and in particular British University and College Sport (BUCS) Competition

 

Ben Helm Scholarship

The Ben Helm scholarship is available to members of the Edinburgh University Boat Club who show ability and potential for national representation.

Eric Liddell High Performance Scholarships

Created in the memory of one of the University's sporting greats, these scholarships support our most talented students through the Individual Performance Programme.

Gary Painter Rowing Prize

The Gary Painter Rowing Prize is available to members of the Edinburgh University Boat Club who show ability and potential for national representation.

Keri Holdsworth Scholarship

In memory of Keri Holdsworth, Scottish International Rugby player, this scholarship supports the development of an Edinburgh University Ladies Rugby Football Club member.

Stockman Scholarship for Sporting Excellence

This scholarship is a one off award open to talented students on our Individual Performance Programme competing in track and field events.

Tim Lees Scholarship

The Tim Lees Scholarship is available to members of the Edinburgh University Boat Club who show ability and potential for national representation.

Winning Students

Winning Students was established in May 2009 as Scotland's national sports scholarships supporting student athletes.
