Visit the Claret Jug at the Pleasance

The Open’s Claret Jug will be visiting the Pleasance on Wednesday 30 May

The jug is a central piece of golf silverware and it is a unique opportunity to see the trophy once lifted by greats such as Seve Ballesteros and Jack Nicklaus ahead of this year’s competition at Carnoustie in July.

Fans will be able to see the jug as well as take photos of it between 12.45pm and 1.45pm in our Hall of Fame area, rather fittingly.

Please let our reception team know you wish to see the Claret Jug on arrival and they will direct you to its location.

The Open’s history stretches back to 1860 and it has become one of golf’s most anticipated competitions, taking place on courses such as St Andrews and Turnberry.

The Claret Jug itself first came into use in 1873 and has become an iconic symbol of golfing excellence.
