Rugby Rookie to Scotland Star

Playing your first proper game of rugby in front of a crowd of 10,000 in a Royal Bank of Scotland Varsity Match at BT Murrayfield may be the stuff of nightmares to some, but it was actually the start of Elizabeth Musgrove’s dream rugby journey.

Elizabeth Musgrove

Elizabeth switched to rugby last year after previously competing in athletics. She scored with her first touch at last year’s Varsity match against St Andrews and went on to feature in the Edinburgh University Ladies’ Rugby Football Club (EULRFC) team that won their BUCS League, BUCS Championship and BUCS Sevens titles. The multi-talented athlete then went on to top it off with her first Scotland caps in the Sevens team this summer.

Now Elizabeth is back where it all began at Royal Bank of Scotland Scottish Varsity Matches at BT Murrayfield, which takes place this Saturday. She is relishing the opportunity to shine again at the national rugby stadium:

I'm really looking forward to playing in Varsity this weekend, the crowd last year created such an amazing atmosphere, so hopefully this year it will be even bigger and continue to support women's rugby.
