Sport & Exercise scoops National Fitness Award

Sport & Exercise has been awarded the “UK Education Facility of the Year” accolade at the tenth annual National Fitness Awards.

The event, which recognises excellence and achievement in gyms throughout the country, is the UK’s largest free to enter Fitness awards, with shortlisted facilities being as far north as Elgin and as far south as Devon.

Aimed at gyms which are based within a school, college or on a university campus the “Education Facility of the Year” award assesses the range of facilities, equipment and classes on offer, and how the organisation engages with, and enhances the experience of, their students, staff and the wider community. The judging panel also assesses how successful the shortlisted organisations are at spreading the word about health and fitness to the younger generation and the support on offer for sports clubs and elite athletes.

The judging panel commented that Sport & Exercise offered:

“Enviable facilities and with a determined passion to be the best, aspiring for excellence and achieving it”

National Fitness Awards’ event director Judith Halkerston said: “All our winners should be incredibly proud of their success. It’s been an arduous journey to this point as every year we receive more nominations with the majority being of a brilliant standard so to walk away with an award is such an achievement.

"Our awards’ night is always an amazing celebration of the fitness industry as a whole – it was a wonderful evening and it was lovely to share in the celebrations of the winners."

“We are delighted to have won this prestigious award. It is credit to every member of our team who work tirelessly to ensure we continue to offer a sector leading service and experience. We’d like to thank all our partners, members and customers, who have made this possible and who inspire us every day”
