Strategies for injury risk reduction in athletes from recreational to high performance including load management and monitoring.
Having graduated from Queen Margaret University in 1999 with a BSc in Physiotherapy, I have gone on to work in various specialist roles within the NHS, including Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal out-patients, while building my sport portfolio.
I have been the lead Physiotherapist with the High Performance Sport Programme at the University of Edinburgh for the last 5 years, and have more recently moved into a Managerial role which combines management of the Sports Medicine Service here at FASIC with Responsibilities within the Senior Management Group at University Sport & Exercise.
I have retained my role as Lead Physiotherapist with the Performance Swimming and Rowing Programmes and am also currently working with the Scotland Men’s Hockey Team, supporting their international program and progression to European A Division.
I am committed to continued professional development and take pride in providing support to a team of clinicians providing expert advice and treatment in an evidence-based best practice environment.
