We offer a variety of courses, tutored by our physiotherapists and medical staff.

Prehabilitation for Runners

Tuesdays 12.30pm-1.30pm or 5pm - 6pm

Cost: £40 per person (4 sessions)

Run by experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist Linda Linton, this course specialises in the management and prevention of running related injuries. Suitable for new and returning runners and anyone who would like improve their general strength and flexibility for running.

Winter Sports Prehabilitation

Thursdays 6pm-7pm

Dates: 01/03/18, 15/03/18, 22/03/18 and 29/03/18

Cost: £40 per person (4 sessions)

Learn how to prepare optimally for all types of ski or snowboard adventures. Prehabilitation programme based on current research on Improving Performance and Reducing Injury Risk. There will be a focus on strength, cardio, plyometrics, proprioception (balance) and flexibility/mobility. Learn about warming up, the effects of altitude, hydration, nutrition, warming down, and recovery. 

Introduction to Sports Massage

You will be guided through the key concepts behind sports massage and provided with some basic hands-on skills by course tutors Amanda Marshall and Sandi Lyall.

  • Soft tissue palpation
  • Basic techniques of sports massage

Pilates for Runners

Wednesday, 7.30pm-9pm

Practical workshop improving performance and releasing potential to move more effectively led by Jenny Tyler, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Body Control Pilates Instructor.

National Sports First Aid Course

Sunday, 9.30am-4.30pm

Date: 22/04/18

Cost: £100

Pitch-side first aid skills for all those involved in sport, including coaches, teachers and volunteers. No prior knowledge required.

Endorsed by SFA, SRU and the SportsScotland Institute of Sport.

Run over one day with some pre-reading, the course has both theoretical and practical element which is designed to improve competence and confidence in dealing with first aid  situations.

You will learn basic life support skills, how to deal with sports injuries and medical conditions.

Your certificate is awarded on successful completion of the course and is valid for three years.

Pilates for Golfers

Sports-Specific Taping

Sunday, 9.30am-4.30pm

Date: 06/05/18

Cost: £120

A one-day workshop that will enable participants to understand the principles of taping and teach the safe application of both traditional and kinesiology methods.

The workshop covers all the key techniques associated with sports taping. These are essential skills for anyone looking to play an active role in the management of sports injuries.

All attendees will receive a course booklet and a certificate of attendance.
