How to apply for an undergraduate degree in the College of Science and Engineering

Applying to programmes in Science and Engineering

All applicants, whether from the UK, EU or an international country must apply through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).  For detailed information on applying please see the UCAS website.

We usually consider a maximum of two applications to programmes in Science and Engineering as this helps ensure we make offers to as many individuals as possible. Where there is considerable competition for places successful applicants may only be made an offer for one of their chosen programmes.

For the subjects areas listed below we can only accept one application for programmes in these subject areas:

Informatics

If you are applying for an Informatics programme, due to high demand we can only accept one application for a programme in this subject area. You can use your second application for any other Science and Engineering programme.

Mathematics

If you are applying for a Mathematics programme, due to high demand we can only accept one application for a programme in this subject area. You can use your second application for any other Science and Engineering programme.

Biological Sciences

If you are applying to our Biological Sciences programmes you should only select one programme within this subject area.  You can use your second application for any other Science and Engineering programme.

When to apply

You should apply by the relevant UCAS deadline to make sure your application is considered.

The UCAS equal consideration  deadline is 31 January 2024 at 18:00 GMT.   We recommend that all applicants submit their application by this date, although for some subject areas we may be able to consider overseas until 30 June.
