Unconscious Bias Workshop 2017

This workshop was an opportunity to raise awareness of unconscious bias and to develop ideas for research led actions to mitigate bias in key people processes.

Bias can creep into any situation where individuals have the power to influence the outcome through their decisions and actions. Bias can be costly. It can cause us to make decisions that are not objective, miss opportunities and limit potential. Whether you are involved in recruitment, people development, performance management, leadership, or teaching and supervision of students, all staff should complete this e-learning module to reduce the effect of bias on their decision-making and their work culture.

This workshop , held on 1st February 2017(and again on 13th June 2018), offered delegates an opportunity to raise their awareness of unconscious bias and to develop ideas for research led actions to mitigate personal, manager and organisational bias in key people processes.  It included an opportunity to undergo unconscious bias testing and to receive confidential feedback on the test results.
