Quality Assurance Assistant
To work with scientists ensuring the quality of their work from concept research through to publications. Closing on 19 Oct.
Open-ended Contract, UE05 £23,487 - £27,116 per annum
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Assistant to work with the research scientists at Easter Bush Campus ensuring the quality of their work from the concept research through to the published papers.
The post-holder will work within the Quality Management group where they will support laboratory- and computer-based scientists on all matters that could impact the quality of their scientific research output. This will involve the post-holder advising researchers on current best practice to ensure that our science is rigorous, accountable, traceable and reproducible.
This role will also involve the use and maintenance of a document control management system (Q-Pulse) to manage Standard Operating Procedures and other controlled documents. It will further involve the post-holder in auditing the maintenance and operation of systems and processes within the research environment.
The post-holder will assist all researchers across the Easter Bush Campus with the day-to-day documenting of their publications and research outputs, ensuring they are available in the University’s research information system (PURE) and that they comply with appropriate Open Access policies.
Your skills and attributes for success:
You must have a science degree, with some experience of working in laboratory or research environment is required in order to be comfortable with the science terminology being used in the role. This role requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to turn technical content into laymans terms. This role will be required to deliver to deadlines and you must be able to manage conflicting priorities. Experience of QPulse and PURE systems would be an advantage, any quality control-management qualification or training would also be advantageous.
This is post is supported by strategic funding with a current end date of 31st March 2022, however this post is highly likely to be extended in accordance with new strategic award.
