Disabled Staff and Carers
A Disabled Staff Network has been formed with membership open to all of the University’s disabled staff and carers. The purpose is to provide a network of mutual support and a collective voice for disabled staff in the University of Edinburgh to progress issues relating to disability. The University of Edinburgh, The Roslin Institute is a Carer Positive employer.

Staff Pride (LGBT+) Network
The first Rainbow Cake Social at the Institute was on 5th July 2019 and it is meant to become a regular meet-up for LGBTQ+ members of staff and anyone who supports them. There is a staff pride network connecting staff across the University, an inclusive network that serves as a resource for the rich diversity of LGBT+ identified employees across the institution and includes PhD students who prefer to attend staff events. The goal is to provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for all people who self identify as part of LGBT+ communities, whether or not they are 'out' in the wider world, and to make LGBT+ issues more visible within the University environment.
