Support for translational research
A session about translational research and where to get funding for new ideas.

On 25 October, Edinburgh Innovations assembled a panel of three speakers at the Roslin Institute, who discussed the route from University support to engaging with a venture fund.
The first speaker was Lysimachos Zografos, Wellcome Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Edinburgh Innovations Ltd, who works to develop tailored translational activities and promoting culture change to encourage and increase translation. As an entrepreneurial leader, Lysimachos has first-hand experience of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and has raised multiple rounds of investment.
The second speaker was Veronica Ferguson, Enterprise Executive at Edinburgh Innovations Ltd, who is an experienced project manager with a passion for people, enterprise and entrepreneurs. Veronica has a long track of record of success in generating funded projects, and experience of developing and supporting individuals through a number of translational programmes.
The third speaker was Marcus Henderson, Investment Director at Mercia Asset Management, who leads investments into high-growth tech firms. Marcus has experience in venture investments into software, digital entertainment, manufacturing, and life science companies, as well as in corporate finance and consulting.
The session was part of the Breakthrough Enterprise programme of workshops.
