Improving animal welfare and production traits
Enhancing the well-being, resilience and productivity of livestock

Our understandings regarding the development, genetics and physiology of farm animals are used to enhance the well-being, resilience and productivity of livestock.
This includes developing novel approaches to improve attributes such as birth weight, meat quality and fertility, without compromising animal welfare.
The identification of biomarkers of key traits enables improvements in veterinary practice and animal models of disease.
