Genome engineering technologies
Developing genome engineering technologies
We are applying our knowledge of reproduction, embryology and molecular biology to genetically improve animals, from mice to chickens, rats, sheep, pigs and cattle. A revolution in genome editing technologies is transforming our ability to make precise genetic changes in these species.
We are also developing techniques for derivation of stem cells from a range of species and differentiated cell lines to replace, where effective, the use of animals in experiments.
