Dr Pip Beard is awarded prestigious Lectureship and medal
Dr Pip Beard has been awarded the 2018 Journal of Comparative Pathology Plenary Lectureship and J. McFadyean medal.
The Journal of Comparative Pathology has awarded its 2018 Plenary Lectureship to Dr Pip Beard. The Lectureship is awarded to an individual at the forefront of veterinary research within one of the scientific disciplines defined by the scope of the Journal.
As part of the award, Pip was invited to give the Journal of Comparative Pathology Plenary Lecture at the joint Annual Congress of the European Society for Veterinary Pathology and European College of Veterinary Pathologists in Romania earlier in September, where she was awarded the Journal's J. McFadyean medallion.
Dr Pip Beard is a Group Leader at The Roslin Institute and the Pirbright Institute, where she leads a team investigating the highly specialised DNA viruses which replicate in the cytoplasm of the host cell.
I am delighted to receive the 2018 Journal of Comparative Pathology Plenary Lectureship and J. McFadyean medal in recognition for my work on the pathogenesis of viral diseases.
