Avian Research Symposium 2024

Last month we hosted the 4th Avian Research Symposium. The symposium was organised and hosted by early career researchers from The Roslin Institute and SRUC, with sessions chaired by Roslin colleagues.  It was a truly international meeting, with up to 100 delegates online at any one time attending from several countries including China, Russia, Brazil, Italy, India, Poland, Mexico and Tunisia.

There were 40 excellent talks in all over the three afternoons, and our invited speakers Dr Filip Van Immerseel (Ghent University, Belgium), Prof Benjamin Schusser (Technical University of Munich, Germany), Dr Jérôme Gros (Institut Pasteur, France), and Dr Yang Liu (Sun Yat-sen University, China) opened the sessions and set the tone in a vibrant and enthusiastic style. The standard of all talks was extremely high and emphasises the standard of research using avian model systems globally.

The organising committee would like to thank all those that submitted abstracts, our presenters, chairs, and keynote speakers.
