LBEP were pleased to be given the opportunity to develop workshops for families alongside the Roslin Institute public engagement team at the Edinburgh Science Festival 2022. At the National Museum of Scotland we ran four workshops all based on the Hostbusters game and comic strip. These were fun, hands-on experiences that educated the families on the concepts of helpful and harmful bacteria, how bacteria spread and how they can jump between animals and humans.

A huge thanks to all of the volunteers who came along to support this public engagement event. Having a wide range of volunteers meant that each family was able to spend time talking one-to-one with a researcher to find out about what a scientific career is really like.
