Professor Wendy Bickmore: Human genetics - why families matter
Family: The future of tailoring genomes to treatment
Professor Wendy Bickmore is Director of the MRC Human Genetics Unit, part of the Institute of Genetics and Cancer at the University of Edinburgh. As an MRC group leader she investigated how individual genes are organized and packaged in the nucleus and how they move in the cell cycle and during development.
Current research in Prof Bickmore’s laboratory focuses on how the spatial organization of the nucleus influences genome function in development and disease.
