On 13 November 2019 the University of Edinburgh hosted a public event celebrating the centenary of the Genetics Society and 100 years of animal genetics research in Edinburgh.

Three expert panellists gave presentations about aspects of genetics that affect the lives of humans and animals, and discussed the past, present and future of genetics research in agriculture, wildlife management and human medicine.
