100 Years of Animal Genetics
2019 marked 100 years of animal genetics research in Edinburgh (AG100). The Institute celebrated this centenary by showcasing its current research in animal genetics with a programme of public and scientific events throughout Scotland and the north of England.
Specifically, we aimed to use this anniversary to promote conversation and debate about the use of new genetic technologies in animal breeding for health and welfare, responding to questions and listening to comments from the public.
We took our AG100 stand to the following public events:
27th May | Northumberland County Show |
22nd June | Loanhead Gala Day |
29th June | Haddington Show |
16th July | National Museum of Rural Life |
1st August | Stewartry Agricultural Show |
10th August | Mid-Argyll Show |
17th August | Peeblesshire Agricultural Society's Annual Show |
31st August | Lairg Crofters Show |
7th September | Dalmally Agricultural Society Annual Show |
