Research Data Management

Research Data Management (RDM) is the methodical handling of the information produced or re-used during the course of academic research.

It is a policy requirement of many funders and a legal responsibility. The outcomes of good RDM are that the rights of data subjects/owners are protected and that data is archived towards the end of research so that it remains available for validation of results, and potentially for future re-use.

The Research Data Service is provided by experts across Information Services. We aim to provide the tailored support researchers need throughout the research lifecycle, whether you are creating new datasets or reusing existing data.

PURE - your research profile

Pure is the University’s Current Research Information System (CRIS). As a researcher with a Pure profile, you are able to add the outputs and outcomes of your research to Pure in the form of research outputs, activities, prizes, press/media and impacts, all of which can be related in Pure to provide a complete representation of your research. These outputs and outcomes can then be publicly displayed on your research profile page on the Edinburgh Research Explorer which is the public display of Pure.

Login in to Pure [Your University Login required].  If you are unable to log in, please contact your local Pure contacts.
