Bioinformatician, Pollard Group (Closing date: 14 April 2021)

The laboratory of Prof Steven Pollard explores molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate neural stem cells and how these become deregulated in brain cancers. We now seek a bioinformatician to support several interrelated projects exploring the transcriptional and epigenetic changes that accompany malignant transformation of neural stem cell .

You will build on recently reported discoveries that have identified key transcription factors, regulatory enhancers and epigenetic reconfigurations underpinning glioblastoma. Specifically, you will lead your own project using 10X single cell profiling and a combination of RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and whole genome sequence analysis to better understand the identity of glioblastoma stem cells. You will also support a range of ongoing projects within our team through your expertise in RNA-seq, ChIP-seq and 10X single cell multiome analysis.
