Centre for Regenerative Medicine

Postdoctoral position, Blin Group (Closing date: 30 Nov 21)

The laboratory of Dr Guillaume Blin lab is looking for a motivated and responsible postdoctoral colleague to participate in an exciting 3-year project funded by the BBSRC: Our lab recently established a tractable and standardised in vitro system that leverages hESC and microfabrication to mimic the early stages of human embryonic development.

The post-holder will use this model system and cutting-edge quantitative approaches to decode the self-organising principles of human development, thereby identifying the path to clinically-relevant progenitor cell types.

The Opportunity

This is a 3-year full time postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Quantitative Biology of Pattern Formation. We are an interdisciplinary team of enthusiastic researchers located in a world-leading centre for regenerative medicine. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in developmental biology and a will to develop their quantitative skills to work at the boundary between stem cell biology and engineering.

Your skills and attributes for success

  • Experience with cell culture, molecular biology and fluorescence microscopy techniques
  • Some programming experience (i.e python or R for data visualisation) or a strong motivation to learn.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for devising and implementing novel approaches
  • Self-motivated, helpful, professional, highly organized, and goal-oriented

Closing date: 30th November 2021, 5pm
