About Edinburgh BioQuarter

Edinburgh BioQuarter Campus

Edinburgh BioQuarter is supported by four partners – City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Lothian, Scottish Enterprise and the University of Edinburgh – each aligned to deliver experience, expertise and a dedication to BioQuarter’s success.

At BioQuarter, the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh’s NHS hospital is co-located next to the University of Edinburgh’s world-leading medical research institutes and teaching facilities, fostering better collaboration. Top entrepreneurs develop new therapies and technologies at the campus’ innovation centre by accessing this community of experts. State-of-the-art buildings and infrastructure, such as top of the range medical imaging equipment and phase 1 clinical trials facilities, are situated in one unique campus helping to accelerate these new discoveries.

The 100 acre BioQuarter campus - located 3 miles from the city centre of Edinburgh – is set to grow significantly over the next 10 years into the largest single-site development in Scotland for health and life sciences innovation. Across a campus built for collaboration, 7,500 people – from academics to entrepreneurs, researchers to frontline health professionals – are fostering opportunities for innovation, ultimately leading to improved patient care and revolutionary new treatments.
