Consult and sign off

Once you have decided on the retention period and disposal action for your committee records, you need to consult colleagues.

You should consult:

  • users of the records, including the members of your committee (possibly represented by the convenor), and any committees that your committee reports to
  • the University Archivist
  • the Records Management Section

Then ask your head of unit and the University Records Manager to sign off the final retention period, and add it to your unit's retention schedule.
