Freedom of information
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act came fully into force on 1st January 2005. The Scottish Information Commissioner is responsible for enforcing the Act.
Environmental Information Regulations
The Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 provide a general right of access to environmental information.
Data protection
Data protection law gives rights to people about whom we hold information, and gives us responsibilities regarding that information.
