Bill Reid is Dean of Postgraduate Medicine for NHS Education for Scotland’s (NES) South East Region based in Edinburgh.
Bill was a Consultant Geriatrician in the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow for 15 years prior to taking up this post.
Bill’s work interests include performance issues in trainees, academic development and training, diversity issues and manpower planning.
After clinical and research training in Lanarkshire, Edinburgh and Glasgow, he was appointed to a consultant post in 1993. He has been heavily involved in medical education through both NES and the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow, where he was a council member and led the Symposium Committee.
