Verity Bowell

MSc Co-ordinator

Background

I completed my BSc in Animal Biology at the University of Birmingham, followed by an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare at the University of Edinburgh. After a period working in the Department of Biomedical Ethics at the University of Birmingham working on research into the welfare of laboratory housed animals and then with SRUC (then SAC) primarily researching dairy cow behaviour and welfare, I undertook my UFAW funded PhD at the University of Stirling on primate welfare. Prior to joining Edinburgh University in 2019 I worked for an assistance dog charity and also ran my own dog behaviour and training business. I am Programme Co-ordinator for the online Clinical Animal Behaviour MSc course.
