Thibaud Boutin (MSc PhD)

Research Fellow - Statistical Geneticist

Background

Thibaud studied at the University Paris-Sud to received a BSc in organismal biology, ecology and evolution then a MSc in evolutionary genetics and genomics. Afterwards, he undertook a PhD on computational biology at the CNRS (LEGS, IDEEV) focusing on genome architecture and the long-term evolution of transposable elements and the impact of mating system on their dynamics.

Following his PhD, he worked on the improvement of analytical methods for quantifying the cross-species transmission of infectious disease from pathogen sequence data in the IBAHCM at the University of Glasgow.

In 2014, he joined the QTL group in the MRC Human Genetics Unit (IGC) as a post-doctoral research fellow and data analyst.

Since September 2022,  he is the lead statistical geneticist of the DecodeME (https://www.decodeme.org.uk/) genetic delivery team.
