Background
I registered as a veterinary nurse in 2007, and was immediately offered an amazing job working at the PDSA in Edinburgh. I was fortunate to work with the charity until 2016, when I was ready for a new challenge in my career. The Hospital for Small Animals opened up a new position, Veterinary Nurse Manager, which was primarily to manage a team of over 70 nurses and animal care assistants. I felt humbled to be offered the opportunity to work in such a prestigious university environment, I knew it would be a rewarding role from the start.
Now that I have been with the university for nearly three years, I realise how lucky I am to work here and to work with such a wonderful team. Our hospital runs 24/7 and 365 days a year, our team face challenges together and always give our patients gold standard care.
