Biography

Background

I work as part of the Pre-Arrival and Induction team within Student Recruitment and Admissions. I am dedicated to working within education, specifically supporting and helping students to thrive within the university context by providing information and assistance for their time in academia. In particular I am focused on looking at new innovative ways to enhance student experiences; particularly supporting the personal and academic journey of new students.

As a team we work with support services and schools across the University of Edinburgh, to ensure that new students are provided with essential and practical information and resources. These are delivered to new students before they arrive to University and during Welcome Week, to allow for students to have a smoother transition settling into University life. We are also involved in the planning and organising of a number of University-wide induction events, which take place during Pre-Arrival and Induction.

Projects are split amongst the team and I lead on the following:

  • Undergraduate Online Sessions (These are Pre-Arrival Sessions offered in August)
  • Academic Fair
  • Getting Started Guides for Online and On Campus Students
  • Parents' and Carers' Info Events (Post-Offer Visit Days)

Qualifications

  • BA Sociology
  • IIHHT, Diploma in Reflexology
