Background

Mrs Patricia Rueda Díez took a BA (Hons) in Media at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, followed by a Posgraduate course in Screenwritting at The University of Edinburgh and a PDA in Photography at The Edinburgh College. After working as a photographer for four years she completed the ELE Spanish Teaching qualification and taught Spanish in various schools and academies in Edinburgh before joining the Language department at Edinburgh University in 2012.

Patricia co-organised the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival (ESFF), for its first nine editions from 2014 to 2023, as producer of the Festival.

From 2023 Patricia is, with Dr Sergi Mainer,  the Outreach and Widening Participation officer for LLC.

She has strong interests in cinema, photography  theatre and art. During her time in Edinburgh she has also done summer work at Fettes Centre for Languages and Culture. She has collaborate with the Hispanic department’s annual student theatre production for four years (2012-2015) and has been the producer of the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival for 9 years (2014 to 2022).
