Director of Research and Development of the Justice and Society Center of the Catholic University of Chile and a professor of sociology at the same University. He worked in the government of Michelle Bachelet, both in matters related to drug treatment and policies and crime prevention.

Research summary
His lines of research are related to the criminal justice and penitentiary system, access to justice, prisons and drug policies. He is currently researching the introduction of new professional actors and overlapped logics to the criminal justice field by applying institutional theory and qualitative methods to Gendarmería, Chile’s prison office.
