Background

Niya is a PhD student on the Wellcome Trust 4-year PhD programme in Tissue Repair. Niya is part of the Liver Stem Cells and Regeneration group in the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine, working under the supervision of Prof Stuart Forbes. Niya's reserach interest focuses on the mechanism of differentiation of hepatic progenitor cells into functional hepatocytes.

Niya obtained a MSc in Drug Discovery Skills from King’s College London (2015 – 2016) and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences with Honours (Pharmacology) from The University of Edinburgh (2011 – 2015).
