Mrs Rona Rae

Senior Radiographer

Background

I trained in the NHS and worked in the human field for a period of time and then the job arose with the Dick Vet and it seemed too good an opportunity to miss!

I joined the Dick Vet when it was still in Summerhall in the middle of Edinburgh and have watched as the Easter Bush site was developed and the School moved. Through working here I have helped run various CPD days and really enjoyed running a course for equine vets in Mexico.

I radiograph most animal species and enjoy the unusual challenges that someĀ  bring...from shetland ponies to clydesdales in the equine hospital to zoo work, giraffes being anaesthetised, Hercules the Bear to the more familiar family pets, dogs and cats to the small geckos and exotics. Teaching the students in their final year and watching them mature into the vets of tomorrow is very rewarding and enjoyable.
