Background
My research centres on understanding the fate and behaviour of emerging contaminants in environmental interface compartments such as chemistry/biology, freshwater/seawater (coastal), and wetlands. To answer my questions, I draw on tools from radiolabelling, analytical chemistry, and synthetic chemistry. I am also equally interested in promoting awareness of the barriers faced not only by women but also by members of underrepresented groups in science. I work to find solutions to address and, hopefully, remove such barriers.
Since June 2024, I am a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Physical Chemistry, specialising in Environmental Analytical Chemistry at the School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland, United Kingdom). Previously, I held a senior lectureship at the University of Surrey (England, United Kingdom), in Greater London. Before that, I was a postdoctoral research fellow of chemistry in the School of Biological and Marine Sciences at the University of Plymouth (England, United Kingdom) under the supervision of Prof. Steve J. Rowland and Prof. Richard C. Thompson.
Prior to joining Plymouth, I was a visiting scientist with Dr. Ralf Kaegi at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG, Dübendorf, Switzerland).
I completed my doctoral studies with Dr. Aline Dia in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Rennes 1 (2015). I hold two MSc degrees: i) Analytical Chemistry from the University of Toulon (France) with a research project conducted at the University of Bordeaux 1 under the supervision of Dr. Edith Parlanti and ii) Oceanography from the University of Quebec at Rimouski (UQAR, Canada) with Prof. Emilien Pelletier. I also hold a BSc degree in Chemistry from the University of Poitiers.
I can be contacted through the email link on the contact page.
