Background

I've been a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh since 2020. Before coming to Edinburgh, I studied philosophy at St Andrews and Cambridge.

Undergraduate teaching

I have been a tutor for the following undergraduate philosophy courses: Greats: From Plato to the Enlightenment; Morality and Value; Knowledge and Reality; Logic 1. I also teach at the PPLS Skills Centre.

Research summary

My PhD is a series of thematically-related papers on different aspects of consequentialism in moral and political philosophy. What unites these papers is an attempt to develop an appropriate theory of value and identify its potentials and limitations. The papers deal with three themes: well-being, aggregation and uncertainty.
