Background
I am the Programme Manager for the Advanced Care Research Centre which is a £20M interdisciplinary research centre focussing on care for people in later life as well as the £4M NIHR Artificial Intelligence and Multimorbidity Clustering in Individuals, Space and Clinical Context (AIM CISC) programme. I have previously managed a number of large multimillion pound research programmes and research networks which span academia and the NHS. These include Health Data Research UK (Scotland site), The Farr Institute (Scotland), an NIHR funded Programme on electronic prescribing systems in hospitals to improve medication safety, The Telescot Research Programme, The Scottish Mental Health Research Network, The Scottish Primary Care Research Network and the Scottish School of Primary Care.
A key part of my wider role is to develop the role of research professional services staff by creating and providing mentoring opportunities for junior staff, as well as supporting PhD students and early career researchers with their career development.
