I am a qualified Primary school Teacher, working as a classteacher for children in primary schools for over ten years. Part of this role included being the subject leader for science and RE, and leading the Numbers Counts intervention programme.
I am currently employed as a Senior Lecturer in Primary Science on undergraduate and postgraduate primary education teacher training programmes in a university in North West England.
- Primary School Teacher (2000 - 2011): working with children between 5 and 11 years of age
- Senior Lecturer in Primary Science Education (2011 -present): working on undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher training degree programmes; Level 6 leader (Part Time Primary Education degree Programme)
My research interests include the provision of outdoor learning and education in primary schools and also within ITT programmes in order to prepare trainees for their future practice.
My current study hopes to explore the impact that early experiences can have on perceptions and practices relating to outdoor education in primary education trainees. I will be completing this through part time study basis.
