Layla Robinson is the Partnership and Engagement Manager for the Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC). She leads on knowledge exchange and impact, stakeholder relations and communications for the centre.

Legal & General has provided £20 million in funding, through a corporate social responsibility grant. This provides for a seven-year multi-disciplinary research programme combining research across medicine and other care professions, life sciences, engineering, informatics, data and social sciences. Our vision is to instigate high‐quality data‐driven, personalised and affordable care that supports the independence, dignity and quality‐of‐life of people in later life living in their own homes and in supported care environments.

Previous experience

Experience gained from over 15 years in Scottish, UK and international engagement, strategy, public affairs and communications. This includes seven years in public affairs and communications consultancy, providing strategic advice on public affairs and policy to a range of organisations. Between 2010 and 2016, I worked for Cancer Research UK, mainly as Head of Public Affairs and Campaigning. I have also led a coalition of disability charities and established the public affairs and patient advocacy function for a pharmaceutical company.
